About the partnership

Since 2013, Amazon has provided essential support to Per Scholas’ mission—from hiring over 200 alumni across 16 campuses, to collaborating in the launch of one of our primary training offerings: AWS re/Start Cloud Fundamentals. In addition to Amazon’s investment in our local and national training efforts, more than 150 Amazon employees have generously volunteered their time and talents across a dozen unique volunteer engagements, exposing our learners in New York City, Boston, Dallas, Newark, and the National Capital Region to the IT industry and providing insights to support our alumni’s job search through guest lectures, mock interviews, and other industry-specific and professional development focused training.

Through Amazon’s generous support, Per Scholas has:

  • Provided tech training to nearly 700 learners in Newark in various disciplines, including IT Support, Software Engineering, Cyber Security, and Cloud Support
  • Launched an exciting new Satellite Training Partnerships initiative in New York to expand access to tech training across communities that have not traditionally been reached through Per Scholas’ in-person training, like Staten Island
  • Developed the Amazon Web Services re/Start course in response to employer talent needs, and expanded its availability across a dozen campuses—Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, New York, Newark, North Carolina, and Seattle—enrolling more than 960 learners since the first class was offered in 2020
