Grace Yao began their nonprofit experience with the Chinese Mutual Aid Association. They started as the program coordinator for In-Home Services, connecting home-bound individuals with trained, compassionate care providers before becoming the Transition Specialist for the Adult Education and Workforce Development Department.

Grace looks forward to continuing to turn their passion for equitable access to education and sustainable careers into action with Per Scholas. As Manager, Recruitment & Admissions, Grace will use their knack for connecting with people to guide individuals seamlessly from interest to enrollment.

As a 1st generation immigrant from Hong Kong, Grace is proud to call the vibrant city of Chicago home. In their personal life, Grace enjoys spending time with their partner and friends, tending to their 40+ houseplants, and dabbling in too many hobbies including skateboarding, making stickers, cooking, creating digital art, playing musical instruments, streaming video games, and learning languages.
