Luis A. Arzu
Chief Information Security Officer
Luis started his career in technology with Per Scholas in 1996 working as a computer technician in training. At Per Scholas Luis was introduced to the world of hardware and software as he built and repaired computers for schools. In 1998 Luis, moved on to Rabobank International where he progressed through various leadership positions in information technology, application development & support and security operations, including serving as Rabobank America’s Information Security Officer. Luis then served in the role of Manager of Cyber Security and Risk Management for United Technologies Corporation. In this role, Luis was primarily responsible for delivering security analytics-based solutions focused on boosting the organization’s security posture. Today Luis is the Chief Information Security Officer of Farm Credit Financial Partners, Inc., the premier provider of technology and financial services in the Farm Credit System. In this capacity, Luis is responsible for establishing and maturing next generation enterprise wide cybersecurity risk management programs and capabilities.
Luis holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Thomas Edison State University; a master’s degree in Information Security & Assurance from Western Governors University and an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the University of Connecticut.
Outside of his professional career, Luis has been a supporter of the fight against cancer by way of his participation in 7 New York City Triathlons while raising money to champion this cause. Luis is also the founder of Harlem SEALS (Strengthening Every Aspect of Life), a program that leveraged partnerships with organizations inclusive of Per Scholas and Columbia University Teachers’ College Community School, developed to help young school aged children (ages 6-8) fill their summers constructively by connecting them with the latest developments in technology and the arts by way of physical fitness. Programs included martial arts, dance, Lego robotics and entrepreneurship.
