Natasha Hurditt

I feel like programs like this are definitely imperative because you have these underserved communities - a lot of people that literally just need opportunity, and opportunity doesn't always come by so easily.

IT Support

Natasha Hurditt was born and raised in Queens, NY. Growing up during the transition from dial-up to high-speed internet, she was fascinated by tech and often found herself dismantling and exploring electronics alongside her brother. Natasha spent two years in college and worked in various tech-adjacent customer service roles. These experiences honed her interpersonal skills but left her yearning for more technical challenges. At a transitional point in her life, she sought opportunities to pivot into tech without incurring massive debts.

Natasha’s search revealed many expensive bootcamp and school options. She felt discouraged until a staff member at her residence recommended that she look into Per Scholas. Intrigued by the prospect of no cost tech training, Natasha applied and soon found herself enrolled in the IT Support course at Per Scholas New York’s Brooklyn campus.

Natasha excelled at Per Scholas, earning one of the highest grades in the class and earning her CompTIA A+ certification. The supportive environment at Per Scholas, coupled with excellent mentorship from her instructors and encouragement from her classmates, boosted Natasha’s confidence, and helped her refine her career aspirations and solidify her passion for tech. All Per Scholas courses contain a combination of both technical skills and professional development, and Natasha graduated with a robust resume and highly sought-after job readiness skills.

Since graduating from Per Scholas, Natasha has continued to pursue her passion for technology while exploring other interests like furniture refurbishing. She remains committed to advancing in tech, aiming to secure certifications such as Network+ and CISSP. Natasha has applied for a Google apprenticeship and dreams of working with major tech companies like IBM or Microsoft.

Natasha believes programs like Per Scholas are crucial for providing opportunities to underserved communities. She advocates for greater awareness of such programs, emphasizing that they offer life-changing opportunities without financial burdens, and that, with access to the right resources, anyone can pursue their passions and transform their life. “I feel like programs like this are definitely imperative because you have these underserved communities – a lot of people that literally just need opportunity,” Natasha reflected. “And opportunity doesn’t always come by so easily…Being able to get your foot into technology for free? If you want to take a step to changing your life, it all starts with you. It doesn’t matter where you are in life. It matters who you are. So as long as you stay strong, no matter what situation or circumstance that you’re in, you can literally turn your life around.”
