Unlocking Potential
Changing the Face of Tech

Per Scholas is proud to be among this year’s honorees for the Kristof Holiday Impact Prize. This year, the Prize is recognizing three previous winners as part of a special readers’ favorites edition! In 2019, two-time Pulitzer Prize winner and New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof launched the Prize as a way to increase support for his annual “holiday gift guide” column on its 10th anniversary. The campaign bridges a philanthropic gap: readers who want to help but don’t know how, and heroic individuals and organizations who desperately need resources but are off donors’ radar. His giving columns have helped raise the profiles of organizations that work on the very issues he covers in his journalism—health, education, human rights and women’s rights, both domestically and abroad.

Contributions from the campaign will fuel Per Scholas’ Career Access Fund, providing thousands of diverse learners in 2024 with everything they need to unlock their potential through our tuition-free tech training. Each donation of $700 will cover costs for textbooks, lab supplies and certification exam fees for one learner, in addition to support from a Financial Coach and MSW-credentialed Learner Support Manager.

Thanks to your donation, every learner will have the opportunity to succeed in our training and, after 12-15 weeks of technical instruction and professional development they will have the competitive skills they need to launch a thriving career in tech earning an average of 3X their pre-training wage.

Additionally, we are pleased to share that Per Scholas has been selected to be a part of The New York Times Communities Fund. For 112 years, The New York Times Communities Fund – formerly known as The Neediest Cases Fund – has encouraged readers to support organizations strengthening communities near and far through this holiday season giving campaign.

Donations will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $2.5M, thanks to generous individuals from Jane Street.
