Ian Shrank

Ian was a partner in Morgan Lewis & Bockius, and then Allen & Overy, for many years, specializing in structured financial products and insurance before transitioning to the nonprofit world. For over 10 years, Ian has worked as general counsel for, and/or a Board member of, nonprofit organizations. In addition to Per Scholas, they have included The Pingry School, a private school in New Jersey; Breaking Ground, the largest provider of supportive housing in New York; MCIC Vermont, a medical malpractice insurer of nonprofit hospitals and medical schools; Hebrew Free Loan Society, a micro-credit lender where Ian is Chair of the Board; and Single Stop USA, which facilitates those in need obtaining government and other benefits to alleviate poverty. Ian is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
