Liza Ellen O’Connor is Executive Director for Per Scholas Texas, where she leads statewide strategy for partnerships, philanthropy, and regional growth. She works to expand access to tuition-free technology training that prepares adult learners for careers in IT support, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. Liza collaborates with employers, civic leaders, educational institutions, and philanthropic partners to develop workforce pipelines that connect talent to opportunity and support economic growth across Texas.
Liza brings extensive experience in executive and C-suite leadership, business development, strategic partnerships, and fundraising for mission-driven organizations focused on education, workforce development, and economic mobility. She has led initiatives that unite industry, philanthropy, and community organizations to expand programs, launch new initiatives, and secure resources that create pathways to meaningful careers. Prior to Per Scholas, Liza served as Vice President of Development at the American University of Iraq, Sulaimani, and at the University of Limerick in Ireland, where she oversaw international advancement strategies. She also held leadership roles with the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) and served as founding volunteer Director of Development for Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep.
Liza attended Fordham University and Georgetown University Law Center. Her work reflects a commitment to education, international collaboration, and creating equitable access to high-growth career opportunities. She is motivated by building partnerships and programs that expand access to technology careers and strengthen communities across Texas.
