Tamara Johnson is the Chief of Staff at Per Scholas. In this role, Tamara is responsible for managing the National Board, strategic planning, and significant change management initiatives. Additionally, Tamara leads large-scale innovation initiatives and the Research and Evaluation team, responsible for building an evidence base of impact across Per Scholas training programs.

Tamara has built a career in both nonprofit and for-profit organizations building and leading teams and new innovative concepts through a collaborative, authentic approach to ensure goal alignment achieving strategic objectives. She has spent most of the past 15 years in the workforce development field, including nearly 12 years as a senior leader at leading nonprofits in the space such as Year Up and Genesys Works. Prior to Year Up, she built collaborative client relationships in relationship management and business development roles in for-profit organizations. 

Tamara earned a BBA from The University of Texas in San Antonio with a concentration in Finance and her MBA from Boston University with a concentration in Strategy and Analysis. Tamara currently lives outside of Boston with her three children, husband, and dog.
