All of the opportunities that I saw that were available to Per Scholas learners seemed unmatched anywhere else. I wanted to be a part of something bigger than me, and something that would propel me towards my goals...Per Scholas would help me in doing that.

Andre Diaz graduated from Per Scholas’ Cybersecurity cohort. Before attending the course, Andre had experience working in IT data center support. He looked into attending Per Scholas as a way to gain new skills and advance his career, and was impressed by all that the Per Scholas’ courses offered.
“All of the opportunities that I saw that were available to [learners] seemed unmatched anywhere else,” Andre reflected. “I wanted to be a part of something bigger than me, and something that would propel me towards my goals. I thought that Per Scholas would help me in doing that.”
Andre gained a lot from the course, and he believes that the training offered at Per Scholas — which contains a combination of hard technical skills and “soft skills” like networking, interviewing, professional development, and more — prepares students well for entry or advancement in the tech field, making them attractive candidates for employers. “The hours of training that we get at Per Scholas really prepares you for the IT and Cybersecurity industry,” he noted. “Any employer hiring a Per Scholas graduate will get that immediately.”
Andre is grateful for the training that he received and the community that he built within the Per Scholas network. “I will take that with me for the rest of my career,” he said.

You can teach someone how to code, but you cannot teach passion or drive, and that is what my Per Scholas colleagues and I have.
