National Remote Tech Equipment Required

In order for National Remote learners to be able to adequately access all course materials, learners’ devices must minimally meet the below specifications. Due to limited National inventory for our National Remote Training Courses, applicants must have uninterrupted access to tech equipment that meets the minimum:

  • Regular internet access with Speed of 20/mbps+
  • A desktop or laptop with the following:
    • Operating Systems:
      • Windows 10 / 11 or higher is accepted in all courses
      • Mac OS 10.15 or higher. Note:
        • Intel Series Macs are compatible in all our courses
        • M Series Macs are compatible only in
          • Software Engineering and Development
          • AWS re/Start
          • Salesforce Administrator
    • CPU:
      • Intel i5 or higher
      • AMD Ryzen 5 or equivalent
        • Exceptions:
          • M Series Macs are compatible only in
            • Software Engineering and Development
            • AWS re/Start
            • Salesforce Administrator
        • Intel i3* is compatible only in
          • Software Engineering and Development
          • IT Support
          • Cybersecurity
          • *Additional steps required for Remote learner with Intel i3: You will need to use a Cloud VDI system issued by Per Scholas staff. This allows you to access a high-spec virtual machine from your existing device to complete all coursework.
    • RAM:
      • 16 GB minimum:
        • AI Native Business Intelligence
      • 8 GB minimum*:
        • IT Support
        • Cybersecurity
        • AWS re/Start
        • Salesforce Administrator
        • Healthcare IT
        • IT Data Center
        • Software Engineering and Development
      • *Additional steps required for IT Support and Cybersecurity Learners with less than 16 GB of RAM: 
        • Remote: You will need to use a Cloud VDI system issued by Per Scholas staff. This allows you to access a high-spec virtual machine from your existing device to complete all coursework.
        • Hybrid: You will need to use on-campus equipment to complete the Windows Server Module Lab and your Capstone. 

Please note: Enrollment in our courses is not guaranteed for all applicants, so we discourage applicants from purchasing new equipment to be reconsidered for the National Remote training courses.
