Remote Tech Equipment Required
In order for Hybrid and Remote learners to be able to adequately access all course materials outside of the campus, learners’ devices must meet the minimum technical requirements below.
Most learners can complete this check in under 2 minutes.
Minimum Computer Requirements
| Requirement | Minimum Needed | What You Need to Know |
|---|---|---|
| Operating System | Windows 10 or macOS 10.15 |
Windows 11 is recommended.
Chromebooks, tablets, and iPads are not supported. |
| Processor | Intel i3* / Ryzen 3 |
Intel i5 / Ryzen 5 or higher is strongly recommended. If your computer has an Intel i3 or Ryzen 3 processor, you may still be eligible for select programs, but you will likely need to use a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) issued by a staff member. A VDI allows you to remotely access a more powerful computer through the internet. |
| Memory (RAM) | 8 GB* |
16 GB RAM is recommended for the best experience. IT Support and Cybersecurity Programs:
|
| Storage | 50 GB free space |
A computer with a 256 GB SSD is recommended. Some programs, including Cybersecurity, may require additional free storage space for labs and virtual environments. |
| Internet Speed | 20 Mbps |
50+ Mbps is recommended for live instruction, virtual labs, and VDI access. A stable home internet connection is required for remote learning. |
