Remote Tech Equipment Required

In order for Hybrid and Remote learners to be able to adequately access all course materials outside of the campus, learners’ devices must meet the minimum technical requirements below.

Most learners can complete this check in under 2 minutes.

Minimum Computer Requirements

Requirement Minimum Needed What You Need to Know
Operating System Windows 10 or macOS 10.15 Windows 11 is recommended.

Chromebooks, tablets, and iPads are not supported.

A VDI allows you to remotely access a more powerful computer through the internet.

16 GB RAM is recommended for the best experience.

IT Support and Cybersecurity Programs:

  • Remote learners with only 8 GB RAM will need to use a VDI issued by a staff member.
  • Hybrid learners with only 8 GB RAM will need to use on-campus equipment for the Windows Server Module Lab and Capstone project.
Storage 50 GB free space

A computer with a 256 GB SSD is recommended.

Some programs, including Cybersecurity, may require additional free storage space for labs and virtual environments.

Internet Speed 20 Mbps

50+ Mbps is recommended for live instruction, virtual labs, and VDI access.

A stable home internet connection is required for remote learning.
