Emmanuel (known as Manny) has been with Per Scholas since 1999. He is very passionate about the organization because with training from Per Scholas, students can succeed for a lifetime. Working as an instructor, Manny helps students become proficient computer and network technicians. He also heads curriculum development to ensure that Per Scholas always gives students the competitive edge. His motto is “learning by doing,” and he defines good technicians as people “who know what do whenever they do not know what to do.” Originally from the Philippines, Emmanuel is known for his sense of humor. For example, he loves to sabotage students’ computers and then task them first with fixing and then recreating the problem.
Manny has extensive experience as an tech instructor, serving as the head of the Computer Department of Isabela State University in the Philippines, as well as an instructor at Queens Computer Center and Allen Christian School in Jamaica, Queens.
