Mary Jo Zazueta is an experienced editor, writer, and relationship-builder; talents she honed as the sole proprietor of a national editing and design business. MJ was drawn into the nonprofit sector after years of volunteering where she witnessed the generational effects of systemic inequality, discrimination, and addiction.

After earning a Master’s in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership from Grand Valley State University (she has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Detroit), MJ began to use her talents in development. Joining Per Scholas is the culmination of two goals that were set pre-COVID: to join a dynamic team that works toward broad social change — and to move to NYC. MJ is grateful and excited to join Per Scholas!
