Montreece Smith joined Per Scholas in February 2019 as Senior Vice President, People. In this role, Montreece serves as a key member of Per Scholas’ executive team and is responsible for driving the organization’s people strategy through its planned growth and expansion, while also preserving our philanthropic and entrepreneurial culture. Prior to taking on this role, Montreece had been involved with Per Scholas since early 2015—as a volunteer, then as chair of the Dallas Advisory Board, and ultimately serving as part of our national Board of Directors. She brings 20 years of experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, and Diversity & Inclusion. Montreece has been recognized as a Black Achiever in Industry (BAI) by the Harlem YMCA. In addition, she has been a featured speaker for numerous organizations, including Anita Borg Institute, National Society of Hispanic MBAs, and the University of Southern California’s Center for Effective Organizations. Montreece holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Resource Management from Western Governors University.
