Montreece Smith is the Chief People Officer at Per Scholas. In this role, Montreece is responsible for the organization’s strategy and its alignment with Per Scholas’ philanthropic mission and entrepreneurial culture.

Montreece brings more than 20 years of creating, refining & operationalizing equitable people-centric strategies to attract, engage, empower, and retain key talent to drive business results. Though Montreece has been an employee since early 2019, she has been a part of the Per Scholas family since 2015—as a volunteer, then as Chair of the Per Scholas Dallas Advisory Board, where she also served as part of Per Scholas’s National Board of Directors.

Montreece has been recognized as a Black Achiever in Industry by the Harlem YMCA. In addition, she has been a featured speaker for numerous organizations, including the National African American Insurance Association, Anita B. Org Institute, the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, and the University of Southern California’s Center for Effective Organizations. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resource Management from Western Governors University. Montreece lives in Dallas and is a wife and proud mother of three adult children.
