Omoanatse McCarther, Senior Director of Per Scholas Diverse by Design, brings a unique perspective to the field of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) by drawing from her personal experience as a Nigerian American born in Kaduna, Nigeria. Her extensive background in the healthcare sector, specifically her 15-year service as a correctional, mental health, and trach vent nurse for chronically ill children, has given her invaluable insights into the challenges faced by historically underserved populations.

Omoanatse’s dedication and passion for DEI are deeply rooted in her firsthand encounters with healthcare disparities. Motivated to drive positive change, she is committed to advancing diversity, promoting equity, and fostering inclusivity within organizational settings. With her strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities, Omoanatse makes a meaningful impact by ensuring that DEI goals and objectives are not only met but exceeded, creating an equitable and inclusive working environment.

Utilizing her experience, Omoanatse conducts comprehensive diversity assessments and utilizes metrics to track progress towards DEI goals. Her data-driven approach allows her to implement targeted initiatives with clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring measurable progress. Omoanatse’s expertise extends to guiding leadership and HR teams in integrating DEI considerations into policies and practices. She excels in creating and managing effective Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), fostering a sense of belonging and mentorship opportunities within organizations.

Omoanatse’s leadership also extends to developing DEI-focused curriculums aligned with organizational goals. She is proficient in various professional skills, including project management, change management, leadership development, strategy implementation, identifying diversity gaps and barriers, and program design.

Certified in Exercising Leadership with Foundational Principles from Harvard University, Removing Barriers of Change from the Wharton School of Business, and Diversity Equity Inclusion and Access from the University of North Texas, Omoanatse leverages her expertise to drive positive change and help organizations achieve their DEI goals as a strategic business principle. Her unwavering commitment to DEI excellence is evident in her track record of creating inclusive and diverse workplace cultures.

On a personal note, Omoanatse is a Nigerian American born in Kaduna, Nigeria, which further enriches her understanding and perspective on DEI. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she is a three-time self-published author and enjoys activities such as reading books, dancing to Afro-Caribbean music, and spending time with her loved ones.
