Wale Akinwande serves as Senior Vice President & Chief Auditor for S&P Global. In this capacity, Wale reports functionally to the Audit Committee of the S&P Global Board of Directors with primary responsibility for all Internal Audit activities for the Company and reporting of audit results to the S&P Global Audit Committee, the Ratings Boards of Directors, and the CRISIL Audit Committee. Wale has 3rdline controls responsibility for the Analytical Assurance group that reviews the credit quality of the Ratings organization.

 

Wale joined the company in March 2014 as the Senior Director, Audit Operations and was appointed Vice President, Internal Audit in January 2016. In this role, he had global responsibility for the management and execution of the Internal Audit Plan including Audit operations, regional audit teams, IT Audit, and U.S. Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 testing on behalf of management.

 

Wale has over 20 years of experience primarily in Internal Audit and risk management with global companies; IBM and MetLife. Wale is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), a Certified Internal Auditor, as well as Certified in Risk Management Assurance.
