House Committee Brings Long-Awaited Workforce Changes Into 2024

Just before the new year, some remarkable action happened in Congress. Two bipartisan bills succeeded past the House Committee on Education & the Workforce, both aimed at increasing opportunities for Americans to get the skills employers need for our economies to thrive. We are excited about the movement of these two bills because it is a step in the right direction for America’s workforce—but there is still more work to be done.

Commonwealth Corporation of Massachusetts Awards Per Scholas Greater Boston a $1 Million Senator Kenneth J. Donnelly Workforce Success Grant to Promote Workforce Equity in Massachusetts

Per Scholas was one of 7 Massachusetts-based initiatives to receive Senator Kenneth J. Donnelly Workforce Success Grants from the Healey-Driscoll Administration of Massachusetts. The grants were funded through the Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund (WCTF) and distributed by the Commonwealth Corporation, and the aim is to increase access to well-paying jobs for Massachusetts residents facing employment barriers, scale effective career pathway programs, and enhance worker skill and productivity.
