Diah Anggraini
If I was an employer, I would hire a Per Scholas graduate because I know for sure they are loaded with the skills needed to do the job. They are ready to work once they graduate from Per Scholas. This is a great program!

Diah Anggraini always loved tech. She had a degree in Engineering from a University in her home country of Indonesia, and worked in the field for some time. However, after she moved to the U.S., got married, and had 3 children, she became a full time, stay at home mom for the next 15 years.
Once Diah’s children got a little older, she decided to return to the workforce. Diah loved that the tech world is constantly changing, but she knew that, in order to return to it, she would need to refresh her skills and knowledge. Diah joined Per Scholas New York’s IT Support course to update her tech skills and gain certifications that would help make her a competitive candidate in the field.
Diah learned a lot, and greatly enjoyed her time in the course. “My instructor was awesome,” she recalled. “In the class, everyone was really close, so it was fun! [The class] was 15 weeks, but it didn’t feel like that long at all. You really learn new things every day. From the basic hardware of computers, to a little bit of software, and a little bit of programming.”
As someone who has previously struggled with nerves during interviews, Diah felt that the professional development portion of the class, which allowed her to practice interview questions, participate in mock interviews, and update her resume with tailoring for specific job descriptions, was extremely helpful.
Diah now works as an IT Consultant at Stellar Services, and uses the skills she learned at Per Scholas every day. She is excited to keep learning and growing in the IT field! “If I was an employer, I would hire a Per Scholas graduate because I know for sure they are loaded with the skills needed to do the job,” Diah reflected. “They are ready to work once they graduate from Per Scholas. This is a great program.”

You can teach someone how to code, but you cannot teach passion or drive, and that is what my Per Scholas colleagues and I have.
