Per Scholas Board Headshot

Ashley’s passion for providing access to opportunity to those from all backgrounds stems from childhood, and can be traced back to her time in college at the University of Washington. There she dedicated time to the recruitment of students from underrepresented groups, while working at the Office of Minority Affairs. In her previous role at Nordstrom, she supported the implementation of their first DEI strategy; focusing on developing inclusive hiring practices and building a framework for their Employee Resource Group program. Prior to that, she spent several years at the National nonprofit, Year Up, where she partnered with some of the top corporations in the Nation; by providing a diverse talent pipeline. While also providing economic prosperity for its students.

Currently, Ashley serves as the global DEI leader for several orgs within Amazon, where she develops, implements, and scales the DEI strategy across 10+ countries. To increase the attraction, development, and retention of employees from historically excluded groups.

Outside of the office, Ashley loves traveling the world, but is proud to call where she was born and raised, Seattle, WA home.
