Hello there, My name is Daryel Peake, I am the oldest of three children born to Iris & Daryel Peake in Detroit, Michigan. I am a lifelong Detroiter, born on the northwest side of the city. I am a first generation graduate within my family. Becoming the first in my immediate to graduate from the University of Michigan with a bachelors in Public Communication and a minor in African American Studies. It was during my time at the university that I was introduce to the non-profit sector, serving as a intern with New Detroit, overseeing a program to assist Minority owned business gained access to capital. A year after graduating college, I accepted a position with Americorps and as they say, the rest is history. In my spare time, I assist with coordinating a food bank with my local church, which actively gives food to area seniors within the city limits. I look forward to learning more about the team and the work that is being done within Per Scholas.
