George Okrah is a Senior Vice President at Lazard where he oversees Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. In his role, he develops and operationalizes plans to build a more diverse, equitable and inclusive organization. This includes driving leadership awareness, commitment and accountability for the employee experience and diversity action plans across the business, educating and coaching people managers on inclusive behaviors and promoting inclusivity on their teams, serving on the DEI task force, partnering with employee network groups to drive DEI, facilitating learning and professional development programs, conducting research, analyzing metrics and benchmarking in order to recommend program changes, designing presentations and presenting to the leadership team as well and partnering across the organization globally to increase cultural awareness and build cultural proficiency.
Prior to that he served as Vice President at Barclays within the Talent Acquisition team. There, he developed, implemented, and successfully maintained a dynamic, results-oriented hiring strategy for all interns and graduates across the Americas with a focus on the business line, employees, and candidates. He led, assessed, and continuously enhanced programs to support the firm’s commitment to diversity. He also managed all university relations and key external partnerships for the Americas which included the Robert Toigo Foundation, the Forte Foundation, the Consortium for Graduate Study and Management as well as MBA JumpStart.
