Jessica Diaz Council is a first-generation Latina who is passionate about helping others and providing equitable access to education for all. As a bilingual professional with 10+ years’ experience leveraging strategic relationship building and academic counseling skills, she has spent her professional career delivering a broad range of services supporting high school, first-generation, transfer, and non-traditional learners seeking a pathway to affordable education and sustainable career. Her previous roles include Assistant Director of Recruitment at Capitol Technology University, AmeriCorps Member at Community HealthCorps, Inc., and “Coach” with the Achieving Collegiate Excellence and Success (ACES) Program. Jessica graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in criminology and criminal justice and a dual master’s degree from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in international development & service and business administration. She currently lives in Laurel, Maryland with her husband and two sons and enjoys playing soccer, traveling, outdoors/hiking, and all things true crime/based on a true story.
