Meet Barbara

I have to admit that this is harder than I thought it would be. A request to start blogging by my social media guru on staff was met with an easy reply: “sure!” But as I started writing I realized that I was getting more self conscious about what I wrote. As I lamented my woes to my kids their response was the usual sarcastic teenage/post-teenage response: “First world problem, mom. Get over it.” Despite the sarcasm, they were right.

So here I am. And while I won’t write anything earth shattering on this post I do hope to achieve at least one thing: to dialog with the Per Scholas audience – those of you who are interested in our mission, how we do our work, what our challenges are, and what we’re hoping to achieve in the future. I may even meander into issues of nonprofit management, women in the workplace, work/life balance – all experiences that I’ve had in my 20+ years leading to my role here at Per Scholas – and I hope you’ll share with me your stories and experiences too so we can learn from each other.
