This 15-week Full Stack Java Development course provides learners the foundations to learn or advance their Java knowledge with the critical skills needed to excel in contemporary web development using the Java SE and EE frameworks. Throughout this immersive course, learners will gain hands-on experience in front-end and back-end development, database management, object-relational mapping, and modern web application architectures while leveraging industry-standard tools and frameworks.
This course is available to learners within the United States who do not live in the area of Columbus (OH), the National Capital Region, or the states of New York, Illinois, Kentucky, Kansas, or Maryland. It is not offered on a continuous basis.

Remote learners must live within commutable distance of a Per Scholas campus to best facilitate our professional development and post-training employment support. For individuals who live outside of a commutable distance, you may be eligible for our National training courses.

Learners must submit their Pre-Work at least two weeks after they begin Onboarding. Onboarding begins soon after they accept a Seat Offer for an upcoming cohort. If a learner is accepted into a cohort less than two weeks from the course start date, they have until two days before the course starts.

This course is extremely fast-paced and rigorous. If you do not have Programming or Java experience, you should treat the following resources as required Pre-Work. However, we will not be asking for Proof of Completion.

Before the required deadline, Java Development learners submit their proof of Pre-Work Completion on the:

2. Admissions Overview: Once you submit an Eligibility Form, you’ll be directed to our Admissions Overview registration page. During this virtual webinar, you’ll learn more about our admissions process and next steps.
3. Assessments: This training requires applicants to successfully pass a technical assessment on HackerRank demonstrating your Core Java knowledge (study resources can be found under the “Assessment Resources” section).
4. Interview: Individuals who meet the assessment score requirements will be invited to attend a behavioral interview.
5. Offer Letter and Onboarding: The Admissions team will review assessment scores and interview results and offer seats to eligible candidates. The learner onboarding process mirrors Employment Onboarding.

- I receive unemployment insurance benefits or other benefits that require me to spend time working or looking for work. Can I still enroll?

Yes. Generally, Per Scholas courses are approved for people receiving unemployment insurance, as well as other benefits that would ordinarily require them to spend time working or looking for work. - Will pre-work be required before enrolling in the course?

To ensure learners are prepared with the skills, abilities, and opportunities for success in courses that we recommend you have existing knowledge, Per Scholas requires learners to complete Pre-Work to be eligible for enrollment.
This ensures Full Stack Java Development learners, with or without previous experience, are best prepared on Day 1 of their course. Our instruction team has also pulled together additional Pre-Work for learners to support your success best. This is required for enrollment with Per Scholas due to the fast-paced, rigorous nature of our bootcamp-style training.
- I meet other requirements, but I am not a U.S. citizen and haven’t received my work authorization yet. Can I still apply?
