Per Scholas Commits to Training Thousands of Black Learners in Support of OneTen

For more than 25 years, Per Scholas has advanced economic equity through in-demand technology training, and this week, the nonprofit announced its plan to train tens of thousands of Black learners over the next ten years in support of OneTen – a coalition of leading corporate executives, talent developers, and community leaders who are committed to training, hiring, and advancing Black talent for family-sustaining career opportunities.

High-Demand Technology Training Comes to Northwest North Carolina via Per Scholas and Wilkes Community College Partnership

A bold new initiative seeks to grow a new generation of technology professionals and entrepreneurs in Northwest North Carolina. In an effort to address the state-wide skills gap in entry-level technology career paths and in recognition of the increasing appetite for companies to allow technology talent to work remotely, Wilkes Community College has announced an innovative technology training partnership with nationally renowned tech skills training nonprofit Per Scholas.

Toyota Grant Powers Dallas Cybersecurity Cohort

This July, Per Scholas’s Dallas campus will be graduating its second cohort of a new cybersecurity course, made possible by a generous $350,000 grant from Toyota, a champion Per Scholas partner since 2020. 

The course was conceptualized before the start of the Covid pandemic and, in addition to a software engineering course, was one of two new courses introduced for Dallas learners during the pandemic.

Comcast NBCUniversal Features Per Scholas Graduate, Ampire Ndusha, in 2021 Impact Report

Per Scholas graduate, Ampire Ndusha, was featured in Comcast NBCUniversal's 2021 Impact Report. As a Per Scholas partner, Comcast NBCUniversal mentioned the impact Per Scholas has had in the tech community, especially with Ampire. With his training, Ampire acquired CompTIA A+ and Google IT Support certifications and also soft skills such as writing a resume and interviewing. Now, Ampire is a network design engineer at Comcast in Cincinnati.
