About the partnership

Since 2015, TEKsystems has evolved its partnership with Per Scholas from a hiring and funding partner to a customized training partner, helping launch nine training campuses including  Baltimore, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, and Seattle. TEKsystems’ support was also critical to the prior launch of our Atlanta, Dallas, and National Capital Region campuses. Collectively, more than 8,700 learners have been trained across these 12 campuses since 2014.

Through our unique partnership, more than 1,800 learners have benefited from customized training, and TEKsystems has hired more than 950 Per Scholas graduates to date. Graduates trained through the Per Scholas-TEKsystems partnership now contribute more than $52M in new wages to their local economies. Moreover, more than 70% of learners trained through our partnership are people of color, nearly half are Black and Hispanic/Latinx, and more than one third have a high school degree as their highest level of education—communities staggeringly underrepresented in today’s technology workforce.

TEKsystems team members participate as members of Advisory Boards in multiple markets as well as on Per Scholas’ National Board of Directors, and have donated more than 1,200 hours at over 100 volunteer events across the country since 2016. TEKsystems has helped more than 1,000 Per Scholas graduates attain jobs either directly with TEKsystems or with their clients.

TEKsystems and Per Scholas further work together on how to diversify the tech world, including fostering a national dialogue about equity and inclusion through the support of Per Scholas’ Diverse by Design (DxD) conversation series. Franklin Reed, Executive Director of Global Inclusion, Diversity and Equity at TEKsystems, chairs our Diverse by Design Advisory Board, helping to provide key strategic guidance for our DxD initiatives. TEKsystems has also supported Per Scholas’ efforts to enroll nearly 4,000 women learners since 2019.
